The Puerto Rico commemorative quarter-dollar, 25 cents coin, was created by the U.S. Mint Quarter Program and is the 2nd issued in the 2009. The Puerto Rican "Peseta" is part of the District of Columbia and U.S. Territories Quarters Program. The new quarter honoring Puerto Rico is also the 1st U.S. coin with a Spanish inscription in the reverse side showing a sentry box on an old Spanish fort with the phrase 'Isla del Encanto' or 'Island of Enchantment.'
